Our final destination was Munich. Art, architecture and beer….liters of beer.

Bodonsee, Germany
The next stop on our European vacation was an area of Germany called the Bodonsee. The Bodonsee is a lake that borders Germany, Switzerland and Austria. It’s what Germans refer to as the “Bavarian Riviera”. It was more like the “Bavarian Cape Cod”. Lots of traffic, lots of people, lots of shops. But they did have a spectacular view of the Alps. I tried to capture it with my camera, but it couldn’t really do it justice.

Rhinefalls, Switzerland
After Colmar, it was back to Zurich to drop Jane off at the airport. We made a quick stop at Rhinefalls, which is the largest waterfall in Europe. There are boats that go out to the falls and drop you off on a rock out in the middle of the waterfall!

Colmar, France
Are you ready for an architectural explosion of sugary sweet cuteness? Well here it is….
This is where we stayed in Colmar, the Maison Martin Jund. It was a lovely family business that also ran a vineyard outside of town. They sold their wine in the store off the courtyard and had daily wine tastings.
We also went and saw a castle.

Zurich, Switzerland
After dropping Alice off at the airport, Sam, Jane and I wondered around Zurich for a few hours.
We found this awesome church door made out of caste bronze.
This was a pretty good example of something that would never happen in the US. They put a super high diving platform in the middle of the river and allow the public to climb up and show off there best moves.

Post Wedding BBQ
The day after the wedding we had a family BBQ on the shore of the Davosee.
Christian, Nick and Melissa’s friend and Sam and I’s gracious host, brought his time lapse plant camera and captured the days events. Click on the image below to watch some sweet BBQ action.
